In addition to the high-quality training sessions led by experienced Portuguese coaches, the focus on the player’s development and the specialized feedback to guide them in their journey, these events also give them a unique opportunity that probably all the youth players dream whit: training at a European Top Academy for a week!

How does it work?

At NF International we will choose 2, up to 4, winners of the «Player of the Camp» in the age groups of 2005, 2006, 2007 or 2008. These players will receive an invitation to participate in the NF Elite Qualification Camp, at the end of the summer.

During the NF Qualification Camp, Sporting CP will have their own scout present, and he will select 8 players to win an entire week of training at the academy of Sporting CP in Portugal. NF Academy will cover all costs for these players (flights not included).

Changes for the 2021 events

Number of winners per event
In the previous 2 seasons, we selected a player per age group to participate in the NF Qualification Camp, in a total of 4 players. In 2021, coaches will award the best 2 players (born between 2005 and 2008), even if they belong to the same age group. This way, the “real best players” will be chosen based on their quality and performance, and not in their age.

But does this mean that we will choose just 2 instead of 4 players this season? The answer is no! We created the “Wild Card”.

The Wild Card
Coaches will also have the power to choose up to 2 more players, offering them the Wild Card, which grants them a place in the NF Qualification Camp as well. The difference is that the “Players of the Camp” will participate for free and the ones that receive a “Wild Card” can join as well, but having the regular participation cost.

Girls will be prized as well
This is more a reminder than something new, but we want to get it clear to our community. Girls can join the NF International events and can be awarded as well! Last season, 7 girls were selected by our coaches to join the “Road to Sporting CP” (know them here), and we look forward to welcoming even more talented girls to our events.

Official Scouting Partner for Sporting CP

At the beginning of 2020, NF Academy turns into the official Scouting Partner of Sporting CP in the Nordic countries. That means that it is not just through the NF International events that our participants can reach this opportunity, in fact, this can happen in any other NF Academy event. Check all the upcoming NF Academy events here.

Our coaches do an internal evaluation of all the participating players in all of the NF events. Based on the evaluation and the level of the player, we give invitations to train with European academies of top quality, our scholarship program, participation in international elite tournaments with our elite teams, or participation in international training camps.

Note: Due to the pandemic situation, we are not participating in tournaments or organizing training camps in foreign countries, but we are working to get them all back when Health Authorities tell us it is safe.
