NF GOALKEEPER CAMP
We invite motivated goalkeepers to experience specialized goalkeeper training, and to learn about modern goalkeeper training methods. Get trained by experienced Portuguese goalkeeper coaches with background from the world-renowned academies Sporting CP, SL Benfica and other top clubs in Portugal.
WHO IS IT FOR?
NF Goalkeeper camp is for goalkeepers in the age of 8-16, that wants to develop their skills and to get a better understanding of the game. We recommend that all of our participating keepers have acquired good basic age-adequate skills, and that they are receptive to learning.
During the program we will be working with the different phases of the game, according to a methodology based on technique, positioning, decision making and game awareness. The keepers will be divided into groups based on age.

GOALS WITH THE PROGRAM
NF Academy has a clear objective on contributing to the development of goalkeepers that are able to reach a high international level through offering specialized goalkeeper training from young age and individual consistent follow up over time. In our goalkeeper camps we work on developing skills within these areas:

- 1 vs 1
- The passes back to the goalkeeper
- Goal kicks
- Sweeper position

Our goalkeeper coaches do an internal evaluation on all participating players. Based on the evaluation and the level of the goalkeeper, we invite some players to train with European top class academies, our scholarship program, participation in international elite tournaments with our elite teams or to participate in our international training camps.

GOALKEEPER OF THE CAMP
We want to inspire goalplayers to work hard at our training camps and will announce a «Goalkeeper of the Camp» in the age segment 13 to 16. Players who win the award will receive a gift certificate for local training and a photo on our «Wall of Fame».

Training groups
We split into training groups with max 12 goalkeepers in each group that are coaches by a Portuguese goalkeeper coach and an assistant coach. When 12 goalkeepers are training at the same time, they will be split into two groups where they exchange the time spent with the Portuguese coach and the assistant coach.
Coachs
João Plantier is the Academy director of our local programs and is a UEFA PRO certified coach. He is responsible for choosing the skilled coaches that will represent NF academy at our camps. With more than 20 years of experience developing players, and 7 years of experience as an academy coach at Sporting CP Plantier does have the perfect competence and network to put together a team of coaches that will take the skills of the players to the next level
JOÃO SANTOS
JoÃo Santos was part of the academy of Sporting as a goalkeeper throughout a period of 10 years. As an 18-year old, he chose to start working as a goalkeeper coach. He is very clear on the fact that the most dedicated and greatest goalkeeper talents in Scandinavia, can not get a better place to train and to learn than Portugal, where knowledge of modern goalkeepers is the greatest in the world.
He takes part of the goalkeeper team at Sporting CP, and has in addition to this, his own goalkeeper school, that is up and running throughout all the seasons of the year. Santos is a great resource, always in a good mood, and popular amongst the Scandinavian goalkeepers in the NF Academy system.
PEDRO CERVEIRA
NF Academy goalkeeper coach Pedro Cerveira has worked closely together with many of the goalkeepers in NF Academy. The 30-year old has no doubt about the fact that the Rui Patricio can come from one of the Nordic countries.
This former goalkeeper has been as a goalkeeper coach these last 5 years. Both for younger teams, but also in the later years for older senior teams. He observes a substantial difference between the young Nordic goalkeepers compared to the Portuguese goalkeepers at the same age.
“We observe many players with good technique and physique, but they come a bit short when it comes to understanding the game and they have too little game experience. It is all about taking more of those fast decisions, and then they tend to make a few extra mistakes, due to the level they are at, at the moment. ” says Cerveira

NF Academy collaborates with local clubs and partners to execute local training camps. We have a base of experienced Portuguese coaches located in Portugal that is available to execute local training camps in different cities all around the world. For us to come to your city you can become a local partner or connect us with a club that want to do an event in collaboration with us.
